Ryan found Mollie by chance, while walking in a cemetery. The little dog had been clearly abandoned, and being a nice and loving person, he decided to adopt her. In very little time they became the best of friends, and started doing everything together. However, their idyllic situation was disrupted when Ryan fell unexpectedly sick. He was in a coma for a while, and eventually his family decided to pull the plug and let him go. But not before allowing his beloved Mollie to say goodbye one last time. The dog’s reaction made everyone cry, and reminded the people in the room of the amazing bond Ryan had with his Millie. Dogs are very smart, most animals are. They know and can sense things in ways we cannot and they grieve similar to the way humans do. When I took my first Golden Retriever to be put to sleep, I brought my second one who was raised with him...as soon as his heart stopped and he was no longer breathing, my other Golden laid his head down on his back. I let him smell him and be with him until he seemed ready. Never let your pets die alone or with strangers.
